Letter Campaign

The time has come to refocus our efforts, and the fan consensus seems to be that targeting the WB is our best bet. Agreed.

As such, we've updated our form letters to reflect the change, though you can still find the addresses to FOX, should you want to...contact them.

Where to Send

List of postal addresses, emails and phone numbers can be found here.

Tips:

  • Be polite.  It's very tempting, but bashing FOX/WB or any of their shows isn't going to get us anywhere.  Duh.
  • "I bought the first season on DVD/BluRay, the soundtrack, all the episodes on Amazon/iTunes, a Ford Dodge just because Derek drives one..."  You get the picture.
  • "I'm Canadian/British/Australian/Brazilian/insert-nationality-here-ian and love the show!"
  • Be smart.  Be calm.  This show is intelligent and high quality and deserves nothing less as its defense.

"Resist." Form Letter to The WB

We've written a form letter for you guys to send The WB which summarizes both our love for the show and the objectives laid out by the "Resist." campaign. You can read it here, but we've included a very shiny version (with a letterhead and salutation) for you.

We are the Resistance.

Nielsen does not speak for me.

As a fan of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, I was devastated over its cancellation. While I realize that neither of you were responsible for the FOX Network’s decision, I feel it is important that you know how much interest there still is in this wonderfully well written and extremely entertaining show.

The way we viewers choose to watch television has been changing in recent years.  As the production company behind this show and many others, you must know that the Nielsen ratings do not accurately reflect the number of people actually watching any given program.  The fan base for this show goes well beyond the borders of the United States; the international fan presence is significant.  In a world that is increasingly connected, the market will continue to expand beyond national borders, making the Nielsen system more and more inaccurate.  It is safe to say the vast majority of us have never seen a Nielsen box.  We watch live on TV, online at sites like FOD and Hulu, we buy episodes through iTunes and Amazon and DVDs from any number of brick and mortar and online outlets, and, yes, some of us watch via file sharing.  It is a sad truth, both for the fans that have no other option available to them and for you, who might otherwise be capturing this unsatisfied consumer base.  There are consumers out there, both domestic and international, waiting for you to look beyond the traditional standards of success, reach out to them and let their support count.

As such, we encourage you to either go to other networks to sell this show or to become a leader in the marketplace and use other avenues.  We are here and ready to help.  Terminator:  The Sarah Connor Chronicles needs a new home where the show will be appreciated and marketed appropriately.

We both organize and support many exciting ongoing campaigns, one of which includes supporting Terminator: Salvation in theatres.  Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is a quality program, one that stems from and expands upon a strong franchise – though I’m sure you know that better than most – and its fans are unrelenting in their support.

Change is necessary.  Help us make it happen.  Bring back Sarah Connor.

General Form Letter

Note: Make these your own, guys. These are here to give you a little help on what types of things to say, but try to personalize them as much as possible. There's something less than epic about getting a bunch of identical letters.

Dear [name here],

We are the Resistance.
Nielsen does not speak for me.

As a fan of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, I was devastated over its cancellation. While I respect the FOX Network’s decision, I feel it is important that you know how much interest there still is in this wonderfully well written and extremely entertaining show.  There is a strong and loyal fanbase more than willing to follow the show to [network name here].

The way we viewers choose to watch television has been changing in recent years.  As industry leaders yourselves, you must know that the Nielsen ratings do not accurately reflect the number of people actually watching any given program.

There are consumers out there, both domestic and international, waiting for you to look beyond the traditional standards of success, reach out to them and let their support count.

The world is changing and I feel that [insert network here] is in the best position to understand and appreciate that.  Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is a perfect blend of science fiction and drama, an intelligent, innovative story with heart.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles needs a new home where the show will be appreciated and marketed appropriately.  We are here and ready to help.

Change is necessary.  Help us make it happen.  Bring back Sarah Connor.
