Update on CPU USB drives
I know some of you ordered some time ago for your Cameron CPU USB drives. Our vendor has been working very hard to get us that product as soon as possible. But, due to the nature of the design, it is taking them a little bit more time than initially thought. Cameron is pretty complex, I think we can all agree on that. So, to transfer her chip into a USB drive is just as complex. However, we did receive some images of the sample mold we’d like to show you guys. PLEASE NOTE: This is not the final product. We are looking into getting the grooves of the endcap deeper. It will still take a little bit more time to finalize the design and then go into production. Please be patient with us. We only want to give you guys the best possible product

I think number of boxes is not correct on the CPU. It looks on the photo like there are four of them on each side, not three. Am I wrong? And the chip looks longer than the drive.
Don’t forget that this is a USB drive so a lot of minor changes and modifications had to be made in order to make it into a USB drive.
Wow! It already looks quite good!
I’m eager to see (and receive!) the final version!
Hope there will be a key-ring hole build into this so I can have it double as my keyfob! Looks amazing so far!
Awesome
Send it over already
Ready and eager to receive! Any idea of a ship date?
Looks pretty good for a draft. I intend to order one, will one with a bigger capacity ever be available?
Looks great so far! Can’t wait to get my hands on it.
Everything looks dead on besides the top but still pretty cool
Heres what the chip looks like

“This is not the final product. This is not the correct coloring. It is not the final.”
Phew. I was a little worried then. :p
Can’t wait to see the finished product!!! =]
“Thank you for explaining” and
thanks for “dog fight” on the chip.
I think we, who ordered this, appreciate your efforts.
It looks alright, but I’m hoping that, as it’s only an intial mold and not the final product, that the final product will look a little more detailed, and perhaps with a metallic finish on the shock dampening assembly at the end.
I’ve ordered two; one for me and one for a friend; so I’m hoping it turns out well so she’ll really like it.
Is there any more news on when the first batch is likely to be dispatched? The one for my friend is a birthday present and I’m hoping I’ll get it before December, when her birthday is.
I’d imagine the center of the circle on the end(the part john grabs with pliers) could have a key-ring hole, that way it doesn’t look like an afterthought.
Just some things I noticed. The grooves aren’t really groves, the endcap has the same diameter across it but with those little bumps sticking out that form the groves across 3/4 of the cap. Or the cap on the model above should be reversed with the thicker part of the endcap facing the middle.
I do know its still being modified just commenting on what i see. =)
You might also want to have a look at the cross section of this usb drive because it has a shape to cameron’s chip.

I saw someone else mention that the contacts could be the real usb contacts. I suppose if you’re still worried about keeping them clean the cap could then be a ‘fake’ set of contacts over them. that way the entire chip still looks as if it really does in the show while in use.
Then the area just to the left of the ‘boxes’ could be more proportionate to the actual chip in the show since it wouldn’t have to house the connector.
Looks good. Only thing I have to say is instead of gray, I think it should be chrome, to give it an accurate metal look.
What happened?
How do I order one? Would love to have it!
