billboard routing
The routing for the billboard has been finalized and sent to Atomic for the three day run next week. Don’t worry…we’ll have staff out on the street getting footage of it! And if you’re in the L.A. area, why not head out and see if you can catch it on the streets?
Route One
This route will be driven on Mon 9/21 and Wed 9/23.
Target hours: 9am-5pm.
Studio’s driven by on this route are Universal, WARNER BROTHERS (and WB offices), NBC and Disney/ABC.
Route Two
This route will be driven on Tues 9/22.
Target hours: 11am-7pm
This takes the billboard through areas that TPTB will likely spend free time in the afternoon/evening, as well as heavily trafficked shopping, tourist areas. Also along this route are CBS, E!, Variety and CNN.

Do those studios have big open parking lots in the front or is everything restricted? There should be huge tailgate parties in WB’s parking lot with the mobile billboard parked for awhile. That way everyone could have their pictures taken standing in front of the billboard.
It would definetely get WB;s attention to see all those people along with the billboard in their parking lot. Heck, maybe some people can make some signs to hold. You have to turn this into a big event to get the maximum amount of publicity.

Ha. No, you can’t just drive on into the studio parking lots. They’re gated. But we encourage anyone who lives in the area to at least go see the billboard in action along the route.

Route update:
Well, so much for finalized. At the moment, the image you see of Route #2 is different from the google map you’ll get if you click on it because we’re having to alter that one. West Hollywood is off limits for mobile billboards, so Sunset Blvd is now cut and Melrose may be as well. Once we know for sure, we’ll post a modified Route #2.

Someone should setup a Twitter account updating as to where the Billboard is or its general area at certain times of the day. Would be easy to follow with a mobile phone.
I will be heading out with video/still camers in tow to try and get some footage. I might just have SaveTheSCC stickers on my car as well.

And if only there was an edit button…We probably don’t need a special Twitter account just for this. We’d probably be better off if savethescc is the official source for info because the savethescc account may get new followers as people see that thing driving around or hear about it. If there’s a special account that’s only for one purpose, you lose some of the marketing power.

Okay, what you see are now the finalized routes. Route #2 had to be adjusted a few times to keep clear of West Hollywood, but we’re all good now.
Schmacky will be getting pictures and video for us, but I’m glad there are a few others of you in the area that can do it too. We want as much coverage of the billboard as possible! If you guys have a tailgate party, I rally want pictures of that too
