Pacificor and our future
Tuesday afternoon and it’s looking very much like Pacificor is going to be the sole owner of the Halcyon Terminator rights, though rumours do seem to be flying around that don’t count Sony or Lionsgate completely out of the picture just yet.
So what does that mean for us? Let’s put it this way: we believe that we can campaign for The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ future, regardless of who the players are. The fact that the franchise’s legal issues may be coming to a conclusion simply means that our work is cut out for us.
We’re working on building a new campaign theme to fit Pacificor, which will be put into motion once the future of the franchise is a little more solid – at least until the results of the auction are approved – so sit tight, SCC fans. With new direction, a television commercial well into development, and who knows, a return of the billboard that made its way around LA last September…we’re far from done.
In the meantime, what are you guys thinking about the auction, Pacificor, and what that means for our future?

Personally, I would like to see lionsgate get the rights. I think that we have the most hope with them from what I’ve seen with them in the past. Either way, like you said, we’ve got our work cut out for us. We can’t give up. This auction is just a new, hopfully open minded, perspective to bring the show back.
I wished that the WB had tried to get the rights, b/c at least they have seen our efforts and we could just continue to hit them hard. I’m not sure who/what Pacificor is or what their intentions are for the franchise, but I too will not give up.
Sadly, I highly doubt we will ever see any continuation of TSCC, now. My main hope was for a DVD movie. It’s still possible, but extremely unlikely.
Doesn’t mean I won’t get stuck in to any campaign started, though. Remember, there’s 70,000+ registered TSCC fans on Facebook. I’ve got 9000 names on an old petition that I can contact with any info on your campaigns, as well.
Another thought: don’t focus solely on Pacificor. They’re not a studio, and will likely license Terminator out to anyone who’s got the money. Still focus on Warner Bros as well, as the characters (other than John, Sarah, Kyle) are owned by them. I reckon our best bet for a continuation would be to convince them to continue it.
I’m still optimistic. Companies are fighting to own it, presumably to make money from it. If they like an idea, they will pursue it. I’m eager to hear the intentions of the new owners. I wish I knew which company gives us our best chance at more TSCC. Maybe feature movies based on TSCC?Maybe season 3? Maybe just more movies like Salvation(technically a success) We should know more soon!
I’m gonna keep hoping for the best.
If there’s anything I can do to help the Resistance bring back the Sarah Connor Chronicles, please let me know.
The dream is to get the original cast & crew (including creative crew) back and continue where they left off. Please, Sony and/or LionsGate, help this happen!
I can’t find the exact article at the moment, but some Sony or Lions Gate bigwig was quoted as saying that they were 100% gunning for a complete and total reboot for the franchise.
I am *really* hoping that someone can assure me that I’m wrong…but doesn’t “complete reboot” pretty much sound like “no interest in TSCC”…??
If it does, I hope it’s only because TSCC isn’t yet on their radar. In that case, I’ll be the first to put their phones off the hook, crash their e-mail servers, etc etc.
Still staying positive here. WB licensed the Terminator rights from Halcyon to produce TSCC, so if they want to continue the story, they can do the same with the new owners.
It’s very hard to wait patiently for the whole thing to be resolved, but we’ll have more news soon enough.
*fingers crossed*

Ok then…I would rather have Lionsgate if they were really planning to reboot the franchise. Or Sony. Oh well.
I agree we have got our work cut out for us. Don’t give up. And hopefully the new owners will be open minded.
I don’t know about Pacificor but if they do get the rights they are going to get to know us pretty well.
@ Steve I thought Halcyon owned the rights to characters like Cameron as well…not the WB. But you do have a point.
@ figs I think the above article mentions that Lionsgate was talking about a reboot.
Reboot for me means a number of things. I guess it depends on the studio. Also you might be talking about TV while the studio talks about the movies.
An interesting point is that all the articles I have read talk about selling the rights and about making films…I only read that they are left with the option of making a TV show.
So lets get TSCC on there radar.
No matter what happened, we must keep fighting. We can’t give up ! There is always hope !
Good news. Looking forward to the new campaign.
JT-800 “The dream is to get the original cast & crew (including creative crew) back and continue where they left off. Please, Sony and/or LionsGate, help this happen!”
what he said^^
i am also here to help!:)
Bring back TSCC!
I was knowing that Pacificor gained the auction. it takes that they have seen our campaigns. I go to continue to fight here in my country and the world. I have asked for to aid in all the communities of the series, takes that we cossigamos more members!
forgives my English, therefore I am Brazilian!
alive e RESISTANCE and TSCC!
Hmmm, I was thinking. Pacificor got Terminator rights, but, from what I read, they don’t know how to produce films, or anything with it. What would the odds be of Pacificor selling the franchise again in some near future? It is so sad, it looked like (from some of the articles) that Lyonsgate was really interested in doing something nice with it…
Let’s hope for the best!
I hope Pacificor, even if they aren’t a studio, bought it because they’re really interested. I read news that they’re trying to make some sort of deal with both Sony and Lyonsgate (I read that during the auction they’ve joined to try to outbid Pacificor) since they’ve no experience in movie and TV show.
So in the end I think we have to wait a little. The previous situation was locked, since Halcyon was in bankrupt now the auction has unlocked the status of Terminator’s franchise.
No fate!

Kirirur, I read about what you said on this site.
I am always checking http://www.deadline.com for the news.
Hopefully something good might come.
Just sharing.
Something to consider is that at the court hearing, a representative of Warner Bros turned up to ensure they have the rights to certain characters we all know and love. They probably went in with the intention of securing the profits from DVD sales and from syndication of the show airing in other countries, but still, they went in and retained that, plus the characters.
James Middleton said back in the summer that WB were considering D2DVD movies for TSCC, but were holding back because of the auction and they wouldn’t know who’d have the rights. Once the dust has settled, and Pacificor has sold it on to someone else, we’ll likely hear something about it.
I don’t know if Freidman would come back to do it, though, given his rant after it was cancelled. He sounded mighty p*ssed at it and seemed like he wanted to forget all about it. I hope he’d come back if they do do DVD movies.
@ Steve
Wow…if that’s true then it looks like both parties has something the other needs. Pacificor has John, Sarah and others, WB has Cameron, JH, Weaver, Derek…ec and they need to work together to create something great.
If Pacificor has not done film or TV before then they might want to partner up with someone like WB to help produce. Interesting. Or sell it again…
I agree that WB could do nothing back then until the auction happened.
But if WB really did do that in court…it shows that WB is still interested.
Maybe they can work out a deal with the new owners.
I am all for a direct to DVD film. And if WB is still interested in TSCC…I think that’s great.
That’s it put Pacificor AND WB on our list of people to contact.
This is not over yet TSCC fans!!!!
Yeah, its pretty interesting to find out theWB is interested in retaining the rights. gives us some hope, just a little.
I think Josh would come back, but he would need to be buttered up a bit, treated with respect. offered more money if they can afford to.
Can’t access the Wiki since the last two days, is it working for u guys?
I say someone like us, should strike a deal with Pacificor.
Some mysterious third-party named “The Resistance” starts pulling strings.
I would like the rights to go to Josh Friedman.
If Lionsgate wants a reboot, that doesn’t sound like more TSCC to me.
Xen, it might not in terms of the series, but it might when speaking about the movies. From what I read somewhere (pages on the net, at deadline.com probably), when the auction was taking place, some guy from Lyonsgate was saying something along the lines of bringind the drama back. If that is so, I mean, continuing TSCC would possibly be of their interest, although they did not say anything specific about it.
Seriously, let’s contact Pacificor already. They own Terminator now. They call the shots. They are making a deal with one of the studios to make something within a certain window.
This exactly! We go to contactar the possible fastest Pacificor. Plus somebody it has that to arrange the email or some form of contact of them!
I ask for so that if somebody will have, postem to be able to show our interests!
I am thankful for all to be on in the events.
Does anyone have contact info for Pacificor?
i am curious, is it possible the Sarah Conner chronicles got canceled because it was taking the story line in a certain direction,
as the terminator movies are what brought big money to the franchise. it seems to make sense as TSCC takes off after terminator 2, and has no regards to T3.
or T4. let me know what you all think,
also would love to know if Cameron joins the machines? and says sorry john for being what she is? or is john Henry part of the resistance?
I would ask Pacificor and WB to join together to continue The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Pacificor has the Terminator name and characters (Sarah Connor, John Connor)
Warner Bros. has Cameron, John Henry, Catherine Weaver, Savannah Weaver, Jesse, Derek Reese, Riley, Ellison.
I’m pretty sure this is the only way. It has to be Warner Bros. Whether Pacificor would want to continue the tv series in addition to a separate film series , like before with Salvation, or just movies is uncertain.
Pacificor’s website

@ Xen: wouldn’t it be better to wait until a team effort is put in place? A few inquiries here and there won’t beat the awesome power of the SCC massive.
but this email is alone pra information?
f it will be, we have as soon as to direct our order they.
what you find?
I don’t care who owns the rights, I just want to thank you all on this site for keeping the show alive.
I appreciate it, and I am sure the cast and crew are also grateful.
We live in hope of a return, and if it happens it will be down to the folks on this board.
Keep going guys!
I just hope some company will pick this show up. I know im desperate for more. Now i say we bring the show to New Zealand and try and get WETA Workshops (Lord of the rings, King Kong, Narnia, Avatar.) onto it. Then we would have a true masterpiece. I think.
It’s good to know that the posibility to see a new season is closer than ever
!!!
i think i write for everyone when i say that i’d be great that this new project could be do it by the original cast, at least talking about summer glau hahaha
i hope so
thanks for all your work!! honestly you guys rock!!
What about the new campaign ? Any news ?
I never really thought about this until now, but James Cameron should help continue TSCC. If he actually watched it, he would see how faithful the series is to what he originally created. It proves he has too big of an ego by not helping a superb continuation of what was his original story.
I say we send the seasons to James Cameron and explain to him that TSCC is the right continuation of Terminator and should be finished with JC funding , Josh Friedman developing, and Warner Bros. distributing. Seasons 3 and 4 to complete the epic story of The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Of course Pacificor is the ones that really need the convincing. But if James Cameron allowed himself to be an option for Pacificor to choose, there is no doubt they would jump at the chance.

News, from deadline.com. I don’t know what that can mean, though…

I guess they [WME] will think of how to creatively deal with Terminator.
Please get Josh Friedman to continue TSCC. That’s what they should do.
