What is ‘The Push’?

The (Freaking Big) Push is an all out campaign going through September and October 2009 to support the continuation of The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  It’s big, it’s non-stop and it needs your help.  This won’t work without strong fan participation.

We’ve got all sorts of things planned, from small daily missions you can do in minutes to huge things like the mobile billboard and the pre-movie advertising run.  Big or small, we need your help every step of the way.

 

What are its objectives?

Everyone hopes for something different.  Some people will only be satisfied with a full third season, others are hoping for a DVD movie that might lead to more.  Regardless of what you want, it all boils down to one thing: more.  And to get more, DVD sales for Season Two have to be huge.  Epic.  Freaking Big.

Why?

In order for the WB to consider a continuation of our show in any format, they need to see that there is a good market out there for it.  There has to be good monetary incentive.  So we can win all the polls we want and write as many comments on as many articles as we want…these are great things to do and they definitely help, but if there’s one language the WB understands for sure, it’s money.  There’s no better way to show the strength of the market the SCC fans represent than strong DVD sales.  Plain and simple.

So the objective of The Push is just that.  To ‘push’ DVD sales.  From stickers and flyers to mobile billboards and movie ads, everything is about pushing DVD sales as high as they can go.  Of course, we also want to connect with as many fans as possible, to let them know what we’re doing and what they can do to help.  Our goal is to build buzz, to get media attention, from the street up.

 

How can I participate?

The Push is all about participation.  It hinges on participation.  In other words?  It needs you.  That’s right.  You.

From stickering to posting flyers to writing letters, the Push is only successful if we, the fans, participate.  We need numbers, letters and postcards pouring in, stickers covering cities everywhere, phone calls hitting the WB switchboard…

It’s all here.  It’s the Push.  And it needs you.

 

A billboard?  Movie ads?  Those things are expensive!  Who pays for them?

We do.  You do.  The mobile billboard and pre-movie advertising are funded entirely by the fans.  You guys are amazing.

Why is The Giveaway only for US/Canada residents?

Unfortunately, due to things like shipping costs and the region-specific nature of most of the prizes, we’re forced to limit The Giveaway to residents of the United States and Canada only.  The Giveaway is also funded entirely by the savethescc staff, who, in all honesty, can’t afford to send a blu-ray player around the world.  However, we are working on doing a small giveaway for the UK release in November, so stay tuned for that.

 

I only see the calendar for September.  I thought this was a two month campaign?

It is!  We’re still hammering out the schedule for October, so the October calendar will go up in late September.  If you have suggestions for things you’d like to see as part of the October push, let us know at moderators@savethescc.com.
